Drastic video I/O products will always capture side bar SCC (608 SD) or MCC (708 HD) text files if closed captioning is available. SMPTE 436M is also captured, if recording a compatible MXF file type. MOV closed caption track capture is also available, with a custom DDRConfig setup. Video I/O products also support 608 and 708 insertion into the vertical blank area, if "Use Vertical Blank" is enabled. MediaNXS 4K and DrasticDDR can read the MCC/SCC files, as well as MPEG-2 user closed caption (ATSC), Avid embedded, SMPTE 436 and MOV closed caption tracks. These interfaces can also display the 608 or 708 captions to the VGA video preview area for confidence monitoring |
MediaReactor Workstation |

MediaReactor fully supports reading and writing the closed caption formats above. All the supported formats are read when present. SCC and MCC are always written, along with other formats when available. |
videoQC/DrasticPreview/DrasticPreview Pro |
|

videoQC and DrasticPreview support reading all the formats above, automatically. These closed caption tracks are then decoded and can be displayed as a caption overlay on the VGA/DVI video signal. This provides an incredibly cost effective closed caption monitor software. With DrasticPreview Pro, the overlay can be displayed on the VGA/DVI image while the HD-SDI signal remains clean for viewing or measurement. |
