Manual removal of Drastic software

dt logo 1.5inchThis article lists the locations where Drastic software components may be installed, in case the software needs to be removed manually.

macOS

For videoQC and 4KScope, the apps are monolithic, so deleting them will remove them from your system.  For Apple PKG based installers, there is no default uninstall, so you can use a third party uninstall utility, like

https://www.corecode.io/uninstallpkg/

or you can remove our files manually from these directories.

  • \Applications\<Drastic Software Name>
  • \Library\Frameworks\DrasticDDR.framework\
  • \Library\Frameworks\Intel_IPP.framework\
  • \Library\Frameworks\SDL.framework\
  • \Library\Application Support\Drastic\
  • \Users\<user name>\Library\Application Support\Drastic\
  • For MediaReactor
    • \Library\Applications Support\Adobe\Common\Plug Ins\<adobe version>\MediaCore\MRExportX.bundle
    • \Library\Applications Support\Adobe\Common\Plug Ins\<adobe version>\MediaCore\MRImportX.bundle
    • \Library\Applications Support\Assimilator\Plugins\DTMedia*.spa/tif
    • \Library\Applications Support\Avid\AVX2_Plug-Ins\AMA\AMA_MediaReactor.avx
    • \Library\Applications\Support\Avid\AVX2_Plug Ins\AMA\AMA_MRExport.avx
    • \Library\QuickTime\DrasticTechMediaReactor.component

Windows

Our windows installers have an uninstall exe installed with them.  Running that will remove all non shared system files that we installed.  To remove the files manually, look in the following directories.

  • C:\Program Files\<Drastic Software Name>
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\<Drastic Software Name>
  • C:\ProgramData\Drastic\  ** note: hidden directory
  • For MediaReactor
    • C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug Ins\<adobe version>\MediaCore\MRExportX.prm
    • C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug Ins\<adobe version>\MediaCore\MRImportX.prm
    • C:\Program Files\Avid\AVX2_Plug-ins\AMA\MediaReactor\

Linux

Some of our Linux installers include an uninstall utility. For all others, we install into the following directory. Also, a conf file is created for ldconfig to add the directories to the search path.

  • \usr\local\<Drastic Software Name>
  • \opt\drastic\
  • \opt\videoqc\
  • \opt\mediareactor\  (autodesk only)
  • \usr\lib64\  (pre 2014 software only)
