Overview

TheKraykenisdesignedasamultiplechannelsolutionthatleveragesnetworkingfeaturestoprovidearobust,collaborativereplayenvironmentorcontentcreationsuite.

Forproduction,youcancaptureorexporttoformatsthatyoucansharedirectlywithFinalCutPro,AdobePremiereandothercontentcreationtools.Forreplayapplications,recordmultipleKraykenheadsinsync,andduringrecord,selectvariouschannelsforreplay,includingslowmotion. 

ControltheKraykenviaindustrystandardSonyRS-422control,OdeticsclipcontrolandVDCPservercontrol. DedicatedeventmarkingandT-Barcontrollersprovideprovencontrolsurfacesforreplayapplications.TheKraykenfeaturesanetworkaccesslayer,givingtheuserdirectcontroloverthemediafilesforreviewandprocessingaswellasfullremotecontroloftheDDR. TheKraykenalsoprovidesHTML/AjaxwebbrowsercontrolandremoteuserinterfacesincludingDrastic'sQuickClipXOandVTRIF.TheKraykenheadsareavailableina3Dconfiguration,usingCineForm'srobust3DcodecanddualcameracaptureoroptionalSI-3Dintegration.

EachKrayken"head"ishousedina1RUshortrackmountablechassisandprovidedwithmountingrails.Internalstorageislimitedtoacouplehoursofvideo,somanyapplicationsusenetworkbasedstorageforcaptureandplayback.TherearoftheDDRprovidesforDualGigabitEthernetconnections,VGA,keyboard,mouse,USB,Device/slaveRS-422serialconnection.

OnebreakoutboxissuppliedforeachKraykenhead-itisa1RUrackmountabledevicewithsolid,stableconnectionswhichmayoccupythefrontorrearofarack. ThebreakoutboxesprovideaRS-422serialconnection,mainpairaudiomonitor,andprofessionalaudioandvideoconnectors.

Upto12KraykenDDRsmaybeconnectedtoanethernetswitch,sotheymayallcapturetoandplaybackfromthesamenetworkattachedstorage.LocalmanagementforeachKraykenheadisenabledthroughkeyboard/monitor.RemotemanagementisfeaturedfortheswitchandNASviaawebinterface.OptionalSyncControlprovidesforsimultaneouscontrolovermultipleheadsforstart/stoprecordandplayback.
